Butterfly Days returns this year with a full schedule of events for its 2022 festival and as John Steinbeck described this iconic Pacific Grove event
– it’s a Hooptedoodle!

A butterfly themed evening with a carnivalesque atmosphere! There’ll be live music, entertainment, face painters, photo booths, and surprises. Come join the Hooptedoodle!

Join us for the launch of “Life in Pacific Grove”. This edition celebrates Pacific Grove and its monarchsin photographs. Proceeds benefit the PG Library. Photo winners will be announced.

The magic of movie special affects brought to Pacific Grove by Karen Owen and friends. Create a short using green screen technology using your cell phone.
PG Books Authors
Variety of authors will be available for book signing.

Visit a variety of exhibits about some of Pacific Grove’s organizations and flora and fauna.

Two 1-hour semi-final matches. First match is at 12:30pm and the second at 2:00pm. Winners of each match will advance to Sunday’s championship.

Make homemade ice cream in remembrance of our favorite ice cream maker with the Youth Ambassadors.

Painting Wooden Butterflies

Join artist Amanda Menefee to paint wooden monarchs.

Children's Activities
16th Street next to Chautauqua Hall
Join us to paint and color, listen to stories, and take selfies with the giant monarch and special frames. Illustrator Keith Larsen will be there with his new coloring book that will take you on an adventure as the monarchs fly. Pacific Grove’s favorite librarians, Linda Pagnella and Christine Gruber, will be in the garden with their favorite monarch books to read to all who love storytime.

David Laws talks Secret of the Monterey Peninsula

David Laws has a new book that unlocks many of the secrets of the Monterey Peninsula. He will tell the tales of several of Pacific Grove’s secrets that he has he included in his recently published book. He will be available after his talk to chat and sign books.
